Frequently Asked Questions

The questions couples ask me most — about the legal side, languages and cultures, timing, and how I work. If yours isn't here, just get in touch and I'll answer it honestly.

Ceremonies & Cultures

Your ceremony, your way

Do you perform ceremonies in Hindi or Punjabi?

Yes — bilingual ceremonies are a specialty. I conduct ceremonies in English, Hindi and Punjabi, whether you'd like the whole ceremony bilingual, key moments in Hindi or Punjabi, or a natural blend of languages so both families feel included. The legal wording is always handled correctly alongside the cultural elements. More on bilingual ceremonies →

Do you do Indian, Hindu, Sikh or interfaith weddings?

Absolutely. Indian, Hindu, Sikh, Punjabi and interfaith ceremonies are at the heart of what I do, including multicultural weddings that bring two backgrounds together. I honour the traditions that matter to your families while making sure everything is legally valid under Australian law — so the day feels both authentic and properly recognised. Do you only do large weddings, or also simple and legals-only ceremonies?

Both. I officiate everything from fully personalised multicultural celebrations to intimate, simple or legals-only ceremonies. Whether you want a heartfelt garden wedding or a straightforward legal ceremony, I tailor the experience to what matters most to you.

Do you help write personalised vows and customise the ceremony script?

Yes. Every ceremony script is custom-written to reflect your story, and I'll guide you through writing your own personal vows if you'd like to. Nothing is off-the-shelf.

Can you also MC our reception?

Yes — I offer combined ceremony officiating and reception MC services, so the same familiar face keeps your whole day running smoothly. Just let me know when you enquire and we'll build it into the plan.

The Legal Side & Timing

Getting the paperwork right

How far in advance do we need to lodge the NOIM?

By law, the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) must be lodged with an authorised celebrant at least one calendar month before your ceremony. It then stays valid for 18 months, so lodging early keeps your options open. I'll guide you through completing it correctly.

How far in advance should we book you?

As soon as you have a date in mind — especially for weekends and popular months. That said, I can often accommodate shorter timelines, particularly for simple or legals-only ceremonies, as long as the one-month NOIM notice period can still be met.

Can you provide a letter to support a partner or student visa application?

I don't provide one by default, but if you need it, just ask — it's free. Once your NOIM is lodged with me, I can give you a signed letter confirming it: that a valid NOIM has been received by an authorised celebrant, the date it was lodged and your intended ceremony date. It's a factual confirmation from the marriage side, not visa advice or a visa document — anything about your actual visa is a question for a MARA-registered migration agent. What is included in your services?

Every ceremony includes a personally written script, guidance through the legal process (including the NOIM), a rehearsal if you'd like one, and full support on the day. You'll also receive a commemorative certificate, and — on request, at no charge — a NOIM confirmation letter if you need one for a visa application. See services & pricing →

Where & How We Work

Meeting, venues & areas

Where are you based, and which areas do you cover?

I'm based in Bella Vista and cover Sydney's Hills District, Western Sydney and Greater Sydney for ceremonies and elopements. I'm also happy to discuss venues further afield by arrangement.

Do you have your own venue?

Yes — there's a private garden at my home in Bella Vista, ideal for intimate or small ceremonies in a relaxed, personal setting in the Hills District. It's a lovely option for couples who'd rather not organise a separate venue. Get in touch and I'll share the details.

Can we meet before booking?

Of course. I offer a free, no-obligation chat — in person, by phone or video — so we can get to know each other and make sure I'm the right fit for your day. Just reach out and we'll find a time that works for you.

Still have a question?

Tell me a little about your plans and I'll give you honest, straight answers — no pressure, no obligation.
