Few Things about Me

From Journalism to "I Do"

Before I became a celebrant, I spent years in the media industry as a journalist and editor. I’ve spent a career finding the heart of a story and sharing it with the world.

Now, I use those same skills to tell your story. Whether it’s a grand romantic gesture or a quiet, funny anecdote about how you met, I know how to script a ceremony that engages your guests and feels authentically "you."

I have a varied background and I have been doing a lot of event planning, fund-raisers and public speaking for several years. I have been a MC for many big events and Bollywood concerts in Sydney.

My natural delivery, combined with my writing expertise, means that my ceremonies are highly memorable and truly stand out. I have lots of professional experience in public speaking, naturally keeping the audience engaged, involved and interested.

I am a Sydney-based marriage celebrant, storyteller, and the face behind Star Celebrant. Based in Bella Vista, I specialize in creating ceremonies that are as unique as the couples standing before me. I have a common goal – helping you get married and making it the best day of your life!

For me, a wedding isn't just a legal formality; it is the headline act of your relationship. My job is to make sure that moment shines.

Beyond the Words: The Real Moments

This is what "I do" really looks like.

As a celebrant, my job is often described as managing the logistics—the mic, the paperwork, the timing. But my true purpose is to create a safe and sacred space for the real magic to happen.

This 12-second clip was captured right after this couple spoke their vows. The promises were made, the words were spoken, and then... they just held each other. In that silence, you can see the weight of the commitment settle in. That hug, those tears—that isn't just emotion; that is the profound realization of marriage beginning. Having guided them through the ceremony, witnessing this raw, emotional embrace is the ultimate confirmation of a ceremony done right. It's in these unguarded moments—the tears, the silent understanding, the deep embrace—that the true power of marriage is revealed. As their Marriage Celebrant, crafting a ceremony that leads to this level of authentic emotion is the greatest reward. This is the unscripted heart of a wedding.

I don't just read a script. I guide couples to this moment. I help you write vows that actually sound like you, and I conduct the ceremony in a way that allows you to actually feel the experience, rather than just perform it.

When you look back at your wedding, you won't remember the seating arrangements. You'll remember this feeling.

Me Reading the Monitum

The Monitum: The Exact Words
Every Australian marriage begins here.

This is the Monitum—the legally prescribed statement that every authorised celebrant must recite before a marriage can be solemnised. It is not a suggestion. It is not a script I wrote. It is section 46 of the Marriage Act 1961, and I deliver it exactly as Parliament intended.

In this moment, the ceremony shifts from emotion to contract. The room stills. The couple hears, in plain English, the definition of marriage under Australian law:

“Marriage, according to law in Australia, is the union of two people to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life.”

These words are the foundation upon which every legal marriage in this country is built. They are non‑negotiable, irreversible, and binding.

My role is not merely to read them—it is to pronounce them with the gravity they deserve. I do not rush. I do not soften. I ensure that the couple, their witnesses, and everyone present understands that this is not rehearsal. This is the moment their union becomes recognised by the Commonwealth.

Why this matters to you

When you choose me as your celebrant, you are choosing someone who:

  • Holds current Commonwealth registration under the Marriage Act 1961.

  • Recites the Monitum verbatim, without omission or creative adaptation.

  • Treats the legal heart of your ceremony with the same care I bring to your love story.

  • The law sets the frame. I help you fill it with meaning.

Why Choose Star Celebrant?

  • The "Radio" Voice: As a professional voiceover artist, I know how to command a room without shouting. I ensure every word of your ceremony is heard clearly and delivered with the right emotion—perfect for those wedding videos!

  • A Fusion Specialist: Love speaks many languages, and so do I. I am fluent in English and Hindi, making me the perfect choice for multicultural weddings. I can seamlessly weave traditional Indian rituals (like the Jaimala or Saptapadi) into a modern Australian ceremony, ensuring all your guests feel included.

  • Calm & Experienced: From intimate elopements in The Hills to grand ballroom celebrations, I bring a calm, professional presence. I handle all the legal paperwork (NOIM) so you can focus on the fun stuff.

My Promise to You?

I don't believe in "cookie-cutter" scripts. When you book me, you get a partner who listens. I will work with you to craft a ceremony that reflects your personality, your values, and your vibe.

When I’m not marrying amazing couples, you can find me exploring the local parks of Bella Vista or [insert a quick personal hobby here, e.g., "taking photos of Sydney's sunsets"].
